Like Rats

WHO WE ARE? Remi Semshaug Langseth – Tony Gonzalez Fredriksen – Timo Silvola

LIKE RATS FROM A SINKING SHIP literally came out of nowhere and burst onto the Norwegian hardcorescene in 2008 with their debut SXY SXY GSW EP. Since then the northern-norwegian trio have become one of the country’s most talked about underground bands, and already have tens of thousands of kilometers on the road both at home and abroad under their belts.

And after playing over 100 shows, writing and trying out new songs the result is finally here: WE GET ALONG LIKE A HOUSE ON FIRE – an epic debut album consistent of nine jaw-dropping tracks that will make you shit yourself; whether you are at one of their face-melting shows or sitting in the discomfort of your own home.

On top of the bands wish-list over collaborators for the album was the name of New York-based legendary producer Alex Newport, who has previously worked with such bands as At The Drive-in, The Locust, The Mars Volta, Melvins, Two Gallants, Sepultura, 65daysofstatic, Death Cab For Cutie, Pissed Jeans and Fudge Tunnel, to mention a selected few. In october 2010 the band met up with Newport in Athletic Sound Studios for two weeks of analogue mayhem.

Like Rats From A Sinking Ship’s sound is diverse but consists mainly of drums, guitar and synth bass; a rather unusual combo in the hardcore genre. They are not afraid to experiment, and the album has guest appearances by the Scottish folk artist Sarah-Jane Summers on fiddle and viola, and the most insane saxophone solo you’ve ever heard – performed by the renowned jazz-legend Andrew D’Angelo.

We Get Along Like A House On Fire out now in the EU through The Perfect Hoax / Indie Distribution.
